I know first-hand how daunting a renovation can be. Years ago, before I became a designer, I renovated my own home and was shocked at how difficult it was to find an architect who really understood what I wanted. Later, as a designer, I was often brought in after renovations were finished — only to find spaces that, whilst impressive, didn’t actually work for the people living in them.
